Mr. Morris Eugene Griffin, 79 of Blackshear, passed away early Thursday morning, October 24, 2019, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House.
Born in Hoboken, GA on June 13, 1940, he had lived in Toombs County for several years before moving to Pierce County in 1996. Mr. Griffin was a former truck driver for Oxford Clothing Factory. He had enjoyed hunting, running his dogs, fishing, and just being outdoors. Some may have considered him the most stubborn Griffin out of the whole bunch of kids in his family. His brothers and sisters would probably agree but will miss him just the same. Mr. Griffin was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He was a son of the late Aaron William & Agnes Lucille Crosby Griffin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Glenrose Humphrey Griffin; and four brothers, twins, Ronald & Donald Griffin, Lannis Griffin, and Glynn Griffin.
Survivors include his daughter, Rose Marie Griffin of Hot Springs, AR; his son and daughter-in-law, William & Amy Griffin of Blackshear; his granddaughter, Jessica Rose Griffin; two sisters, Janice (Larry) Evans of Argyle, GA and Beatrice Blalock of Monteagle, TN; four brothers, Jerry (Susie) Griffin and Larry Griffin both of Offerman, Kenneth (Marie) Griffin of Jacksonville, FL, and Clinton Griffin of Waycross; a sister-in-law, Denise Griffin of Patterson; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Griffin will be held Tuesday morning, October 29, 2019, at 11:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will be in the New Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
