Mr. Michael Joseph “Mike” Glynn, 90 of Freehold, NJ, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at his son’s home in Blackshear while visiting for the holiday.
Born in the Bronx, NY on February 27, 1929, he had lived in the Bronx for many years before moving to New Jersey about 25 years ago. He was a retired typesetter and had enjoyed collecting all kinds of lighthouses. Mr. Glynn liked making friends (Veronica, Bonnie, Walter, & Allen) and so enjoyed playing cards with them. Three days a week you could find him at the gym and he was just an all around happy fella that everyone liked and will surely miss. Even though he had only been in Blackshear a few days he was warmly welcomed. Mr. Glynn even won the Turkey Shoot at the American Legion on November 26th even though he had never shot a gun before then! He was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Lombardi; and by his brother, John Glynn, USMC Ret.
Survivors include his three sons and a daughter-in-law, Stephen Glynn of the Bronx, Louis Glynn of Blackshear, and Michael & Katherine Glynn of Poughquag, NY; 7 grandchildren, Michelle Glynn, Jennifer (Andy) Deock, Maxine Glynn (Ryan Csordas), Amanda Glynn, Hannah Glynn, Jordan Glynn, and Zachary Glynn; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will have a Time of Remembrance on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at 2 o'clock at Hudson Manor, 40 Hudson St., Freehold, NJ 07728.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
