Mrs. Lois Ann Mansfield Montgomery, 72 of Blackshear, passed away early Saturday morning, August 31, 2019 at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House.
Born in Omaha, Nebraska on September 11, 1946, she had lived in the Ft. Lauderdale, FL area for several years before moving to Pierce County over 12 years ago. Mrs. Montgomery had worked as a manager for Shell Oil Company in Sunrise, FL followed by working at Whole Foods in Coral Springs, FL. She enjoyed arts and crafts, knitting, crocheting, watching sports (she even went to the Kentucky Derby and had a grand time), and loved cooking and baking. Mrs. Montgomery was of the Roman Catholic faith but attended Truth Tabernacle since living in Pierce County. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
She was a daughter of the late Pascal Cooper & Helen Marie Knicky Mansfield. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jay Emmett Montgomery.
Survivors include her daughter, Faith Montgomery of Coral Springs; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Montgomery & Jami Cintron De Jesus of Margate, FL; her sister, Linda Marie Barry of Blackshear; her brother, William “Bill” (Kay) Mansfield of Longview, WA; 4 grandchildren, Jonathan Shipley, Brandon Shipley, Christopher Hevlow, and Taylor Hevlow; a niece, Amy (Phil) Ranta; and a great nephew, Jordan Mansfield; and several other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Mrs. Montgomery will be held Saturday afternoon, September 7, 2019, at 1:00 o'clock from Truth Tabernacle on Gordon St. in Blackshear.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
