Mrs. Linda Faye Sapp Watkins, 71 of Mershon, passed away late Saturday evening, October 26, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Patterson, GA on November 11, 1947, she had lived in Pierce County most of her life. Mrs. Watkins had been a seamstress for Julie Hat Co. for many years before taking on the job of full time grandmother. She loved tending her roses and willow tree as well as enjoyed a breeze and hearing her chimes sing. She loved her family dearly and opened her doors to many.
She was a daughter of the late Parnell & Betty Lou Dixon Sapp. She was also preceded in death by two nephews, Ovie Robert “Bubba” Sapp, Jr. and Brian Ashley Thornton.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Jerry Clyde Watkins of Mershon; two daughters and sons-in-law, April & Angel Hernandez and Christel Watkins & Mark Johnson all of Mershon; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy Clyde “Peewee” & Sherry Watkins of Offerman; six sisters, Wanda Sue (Shelton) Rigdon of Bristol, Carol (Donnie) Watkins of Mershon, Bonnie (Bud) Thornton of Patterson, Anita (Eddie) Teston of Patterson, May (Ray) Douberly of Patterson, and Joanna (Timmy) White of Patterson; four brothers, Larry (Susie) Sapp of Patterson, Bobby (Margaret) Sapp of Richmond Hill, Dexter Sapp of Blackshear, and W.T. (Susan) Sapp of Mershon; 8 grandchildren, Jerry Tyler Watkins, Jeremy Caleb Watkins, Jadan Mathew (Hannah) Johnson, Elyssa Grace Hernandez, Bryce Taylor Johnson, Mark Kacee Johnson, Emily Socorro Hernandez, and Jonah Angel Hernandez; 4 great grandchildren, Elijah Tyler Watkins, Bailey Gail Bryant, Anna Jade Elizabeth Watkins, and Adaline Faye Watkins; a fifth great grandchild on the way, Bentlee Kayde Johnson; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial services for Mrs. Watkins will be held Tuesday evening, October 29, 2019, at 7:00 from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
Visitation will be held at the chapel one hour prior to the service.
