Lewis Cason Obituary

Mr. Lewis Monroe Cason, 87 of Patterson, passed away Saturday evening (July 16, 2011) at the Baptist Village Nursing Home.
Born in Patterson on April 28, 1924, Mr. Cason had lived in Pierce County all of his life. He was a farmer but had also worked with J. P. Barnard Construction from which he retired. Mr. Cason was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he was in the Good Times Sunday School class and was also a US Army veteran having served during World War II. He loved to fish, go to church and spend time with his family.
Mr. Cason was a son of the late John Manual & Mary Arilie Clark Cason. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Thedius Monita Boyette Cason; 6 sisters and all 6 of his brothers.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy & Tommy Colley and Linda & Dewey Lowman all of Patterson; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Miller of Jacksonville and Bertie Mae & John Miller of Callahan; 5 grandchildren, Deena & Kevin Woodcock, Hank & Regina Colley, Duane & Judy Lowman, Rosalind & Brian Tyrone and Tara & Ken Dixon; 9 great grandchildren, Macy Woodcock, Dara Faye Colley, Drei Colley, Mickey Dixon, Lizzie Dixon, Ashton Colley, Ethan Lowman, Emma Tyrone and Ellis Tyrone; a special friend, Jimmy Brown of Patterson, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorials:
Memorials may be made to the Southeast Cancer Unit, PO Box 2764, Waycross, GA 31502.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Mill Creek Cemetery.

Visitation:
Visitation for Mr. Cason will be held Monday evening from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.

Service:
Funeral services for Mr. Cason will be held at 11:00 oclock Tuesday morning (July 19, 2011) at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
The body will lay in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family requests that members of the Good Times Sunday school class serve as honorary pallbearers. Please meet at the church by 10:30 Tuesday morning.
