Larry MacArthur Bagley, Sr.

Mr. Larry MacArthur Bagley, Sr., 77, of Jacksonville, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 29, 2019 at St. Vincent's Medical Center - Riverside.

Born in Alma, GA on March 8, 1942, he had lived in Jacksonville most of his life. A "Jack-of-all-trades", he was the former owner/operator of Jax Automotive and had also been a truck driver, construction worker, and painter as well as a mechanic. Mr. Bagley was an avid fisherman and could tell some fish stories - some may have been exaggerated, loved to watch Western movies/tv shows - Dances with Wolves was his favorite, cook, and bake, and throw parties for his family and friends. He was a member of Lannie Road Baptist Church.

He was a son of the late Arthur Rowan & Hazel Wilma Knight Bagley. He was also preceded in death by a great grandson, Matthew Trout, II; his sister, Shirley Powers; and a brother, Curtis Bagley.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Thrift of Nahunta, Darlene (Rosalio) Ruiz of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Angie Williams of Jacksonville; three sons, Greg Bagley of Blackshear, David (Eddie) Bagley of Pensacola, FL, and Larry Bagley, Jr. of Jasper, FL; a step-daughter, Charity Waters (Marvin Teston) of Jacksonville; two step-sons, Lee Dishaw and Patrick Dishaw both of Jacksonville; two brothers, Calvin Bagley (Audrey Lankford) of Glen St. Mary, FL and Gary (Beverly) Bagley of Blackshear; his former wife and special friend, Debbie Bagley of Blackshear; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Graveside services for Mr. Bagley will be held Saturday morning, June 1, 2019, at 11 o'clock from the Ben James Cemetery.
