John Samuel Jones

Mr. John Samuel Jones, 65 of Blackshear, passed away late Tuesday afternoon, October 15, 2019, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.
 
Born in Blackshear, GA on March 5, 1954, he had lived in Pierce County most of his life.  Mr. Jones was a 1973 graduate of Blackshear High School and was retired from Gilman Building Products where he had been a trim saw operator.  He enjoyed fishing and riding his golf cart and was an avid CB radio enthusiast (his handle was Mystery Man).  Mr. Jones was of the Baptist faith and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather – his babies were his world. 
 
He was a son of the late Randall & Laura Johns Jones.  He was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Hill; and two brothers, Edward Jones and Henry Jones.
 
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Linda Hutto Jones of Blackshear; his daughter and son-in-law, Candace & Jason Handley of Blackshear; his son and daughter-in-law, Jason & Pamela Jones of Blackshear; two sisters, Louise (Robert) Sauls of Blackshear and Linda Music of Hazlehurst; his twin brother, Jesse (Stacey) Jones of Blackshear; a brother-in-law, Herman (Mary) Hill of Blackshear; his precious grandbabies, Devin Millwood, Hannah Millwood, Haylee Jones, Kellyn Handley, Cameron Jones, and Karter Handley; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
  
Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be held Sunday, October 20, 2019, at 4:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
 
Interment will be in the Shiloh Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be held at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.
