Joan (Dear) Bullard

Mrs. Joan Dear Bullard, 94 of Patterson, passed away late Saturday evening, December 14, 2019, at her daughter’s residence.
 
Born in Hitchin, England on October 26, 1925, she had lived in Pierce County most of her life.  Mrs. Bullard was a homemaker but had worked in sewing and shoe factories as well as farmed over the years.  She enjoyed crocheting and keeping a clean house but her favorite thing to do in her free time was to read her Bible.  She was of the Pentecostal faith.
   
She was a daughter of the late Thomas & Helena Cox Dear.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hubert Bullard; a son, James Earl Bullard; a daughter, Janet Johnson; two sons-in-law, Charles Johnson and Loran Thornton; all four of her sisters, Violet Hall, Margaret “Mag” Barrs, Dorothy Dear, and Helen Jarvas; and all three of her brothers, Thomas Dear, Ernest “Riley” Dear, and George Dear.
  
Survivors include her daughter, Lynda Sue Thornton of Patterson; three sons and two daughters-in-law, David Bullard, Gary & Barbara Bullard, and Chubby & Stephannie Bullard all of Patterson; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
       
Funeral services for Mrs. Bullard will be held Tuesday afternoon, December 17, 2019, at 3 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
 
The family will receive friends at the chapel one hour prior to the service.
 
Interment will be in the Patterson Cemetery.
