Janice Delean (Sturges) Pittman

Mrs. Janice Delean Sturges Pittman, 63 of Blackshear, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 15, 2020, at her residence following a sudden illness.
 
Born in Homerville, GA on May 13, 1956, she had lived in Wayne County for several years before moving to Pierce County recently.  Mrs. Pittman had worked in mobile home sales but was currently a homemaker.  She enjoyed doing crafts and reading and was always eager to learn something new.  Mrs. Pittman had also loved to sing karaoke and dance and spend time with her friends.  She dearly loved her grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew her.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Walter & Lucille Musgrove Sturges, Jr.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lester Pittman; two sisters, Debra Gail Andrews and Bertha Lou Perritt; and by a brother, James Denny “Jim” Sturges.    
 
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Angel & Tim Douglas of Hoboken and Tanya & David Roberson of Jesup; her companion, Roy Bowers of Blackshear; two sisters, Patricia Cribb of Waycross and Barbara (Craig) Johnson of Blackshear; five brothers, Larry (Faye) Sturges, Walter Sturges, Jimmy (Sandy) Sturges, Jerome Sturges, and Tony (Tammy) Sturges all of Waycross; 6 grandchildren, Chet Cottingham, Ty Douglas, Hannah Roberson, Zoe Roberson, Sophie Roberson, and Manon Roberson; 3 great grandchildren, Ireland, Charlie, and Wade; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
     
Visitation for Mrs. Pittman will be held Saturday afternoon, January 18, 2020, from 4 until 6 o’clock at the funeral home.
 
Memorialization will be by cremation.
