Mrs. Frances Minnis Broadhead, 75 of Blackshear, passed away late Friday evening, September 20, 2019, at Landmark Hospital in Savannah.
Born in Hillsborough, NC on September 9, 1944, she had lived in Highland City, FL for several years before moving to Pierce County in 1989. While in Florida, Mrs. Broadhead had worked as a hairdresser but took on the roll of homemaker after moving to Georgia. In her spare time she enjoyed playing Bingo and loved to shop. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she was in the Eve Purcell Sunday school class. Over the years Mrs. Broadhead had been very active in different groups and committees but had to give it up once her health began to decline.
She was a daughter of the late James Brown Minnis and Robena Frances Whicker Moore.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, James B. Broadhead of Blackshear; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James Lee Broadhead of Rockmart, NC, James Gregory "Greg" & Carla Broadhead of Wauchula, FL, and James Randall & Holly Broadhead of Blackshear; her step-father, C. V. Moore of Waycross; two sisters, Marie (Larry) Sturdivant of Chapel Hill, NC and her twin, Faye Stephens of Hillsborough; two brothers, Robert O. "Bobby" & Brenda Minnis of Semora, NC and James B. "Jimmy" (Shawn) Minnis, Jr. of Lakeland, FL; 6 grandchildren, Jamie Broadhead, Dillon Broadhead, Jessica Broadhead, Malachi Broadhead, Rhythm Broadhead, and Elizabeth Miller; 6 great grandchildren, Josh Gonzalez, Easton Gonzalez, Maverick Broadhead, Kylee Miller, Presley Williams, and Wesley Williams; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Broadhead will be held Tuesday morning, September 24, 2019, at 11 o'clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will be in the Blackshear Cemetery.
Visitation for Mrs. Broadhead will be held Monday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
The family kindly requests that members of Mrs. Eve Purcell's Sunday school class serve as honorary pallbearers. Please meet at the funeral home by 10:30 Tuesday morning.
