Alton Jerry Cason

Mr. Alton Jerry Cason, 73, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday morning, May 4, 2014, at Satilla Care Nursing Home in Waycross. Mr. Cason was born in Blackshear, GA on May 31, 1940. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam conflict. He was retired from General Electric in Jacksonville, FL, where he was a machinist. After retirement he returned to Pierce County in 2001. One of his passions was he loved to bake dessert for his family and friends. He enjoyed reading, tinkering in the garage and watching golf. He was also of the Baptist faith. Mr. Cason was the son of the late Alton Cason and Juval Helen Howell Cason Courson. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Andrew "AT" Talmadge Courson; and his sister, Margie Strickland. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa & Rick Spencer of Fernandina Beach, FL; his son, Jeff Cason of Yulee, FL; a brother-in-law, Bill Strickland of Keystone Heights; 3 grandchildren, Trey Spencer, Jillian Spencer, and Zachary Spencer; 2 nieces, Susan & Greg Bennett and Cnythia & Joe Cipriani; 2 great nieces, Candice Carter and Ashley & Chris Smith; 1 great nephew, Dalton Basile; and several other relatives.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
