Obituary:

Mrs. Vivian Lee "Vickie" Thornton Peacock, 64 of Alma, passed away early Thursday morning, July 26, 2012, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House following a lengthy illness.

Born in Alma, GA on July 13, 1948, she had lived in Pierce and BaconCounties all of her life. Mrs. Peacock was retired from Ware State Prison and attended Beulah Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, shopping, traveling, listening to music and keeping up with everyone on Facebook.

Mrs. Peacock was the daughter of the late Roscoe & Margaret Lee Thornton. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Wannie Lee.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Daniel “Joe” Peacock of Alma; two daughters and a son-in-law, Pam & Bryan Smith and Penny Peacock all of Blackshear; a son, Michael Peacock of Blackshear; three sisters, Roxie (Billy) Goodman of Ray City, GA, Marie (Jerry) Tatum of Alma and Tammie Powell of Charleston, SC; 4 grandchildren, Brooke Smith, Tyler Peacock, Sydney Peacock and Josie Johnson and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.

Visitation:

Visitation for Mrs. Peacock will be held Saturday evening, July 28, 2012, from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.

Service:

Funeral services for Mrs. Peacock will be held Sunday afternoon, July 29, 2012, at 2:00 o’clock from the Beulah Baptist Church.

Employees of Ware State Prison are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers. Please meet at the church by 1:30 Sunday.

Cemetery:

Interment will be in the Beulah Cemetery.
