Mrs. Jena Taleen Howell Tatum, 50 of Blackshear, passed away Thursday (February 16, 2012) at her mother’s residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Waycross, Georgia on October 15, 1961, Mrs. Tatum was a lifelong resident of Pierce County. She was a 1979 graduate of Blackshear High School and served in the United States Army. Mrs. Tatum enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Blackshear.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Reavis Howell, Sr., her step daughter, Amy Tatum and her sister, Tina Marie Howell.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Tatum of Blackshear; two daughters, Anna Nunn (husband Robert) and Karen Sheppard both of Blackshear; a son, Joe Sheppard of Blackshear; her mother, Vina Howell of Blackshear; a brother, Reavis Howell, Jr. (wife Melissa) of Douglasville; five grandchildren, Marissa Tatum, Hannah Nunn, Hunter Nunn, Riley Sheppard, Matt Smith; several nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.
