Obituary:

Mrs. Mary Emma Davis Williamson, 95 of Blackshear, passed away late Monday evening (July 19, 2010) at Satilla Regional Medical Center in Waycross following an extended illness.

A native of Pierce County, Mrs. Williamson had lived most of her life in Blackshear as a homemaker. She had a passion for cooking and loved her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Williamson always looked for good in other people and did her best to help people who were in need.

She was a member of 53 years of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Waycross where she was the Sunday School Secretary for several years.

Mrs. Williamson was a daughter of the late Benjamin Colson Davis & Sally Lee Crawford Davis and was also preceded in death by her husband Nolan Luther Williamson, Sr., two sisters, Sallie Strickland and Clara Dalme; two brothers, Jerod Davis and J.R. Davis; and a grandson, Chipper Griffin.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary Frances Knowlton (husband Jerry) of Blackshear, Bobbie Jean Tanner of Blackshear, Betty Clayton (husband Gary) of Seneca, S.C., and Patsy Griffin (husband Jerry) of Blackshear; two sons, Nolan Luther “JR” Williamson Jr. (wife Judy) of Blackshear and Sid Williamson of Blackshear; a special nephew, Tommie Williamson of Waynesville; twenty grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.


Memorials:

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.



Visitation:

The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 o’clock Wednesday evening (July 21, 2010) at the funeral home.



Service:

Funeral services for Mrs. Williamson will be held 11:00 o’clock Thursday morning (July 22, 2010) from the chapel of Pearson-Dial Funeral Home.



Cemetery:

Interment will be in the Enon Cemetery.
