Name: Robert Lawton Sapp Dates: Birth date: November 02, 1933 Death date: January 19, 2010 Obituary: Mr. Robert Lawton Sapp, 76 of Blackshear, passed away Tuesday morning, January 19, 2010, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Born on November 2, 1933 in Pierce County, Mr. Sapp had lived in Florida before moving back to Pierce County in 1981. He had owned Blackshear Heating and Cooling and was a US Navy veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Sapp was a member and deacon at Southgate Baptist Church and loved to hunt, fish and garden. He was a son of the late Arthur Allen, Sr. & Azalee Shuman Sapp and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine Altman Sapp; a great grandchild, Kadence Howard; his sister, Clara Jo Sapp; and a brother, Earl Sapp.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise Bunch Sapp of Blackshear; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Karen & Kenny Taylor of Marion, NC and Susan & David Justice and Renea Sapp Taylor all of Blackshear; a son, David Earl Sapp of Waycross; four brothers, Eddie Sapp, Carl (Ruthie) Sapp, Allen (Linda) Sapp and Ray (Lori) Sapp all of Blackshear; 6 grandchildren, Summer (Casey) Johnson, Robert Justice, Keleah Johnson (fiance’ Ronnie McGlothlin, Jr.), Kateah Sapp, Tricia Justice and Leigha Taylor; 3 great grandchildren, Allie Johnson, Donovan Johnson and Abigail Johnson and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.
Visitation: Visitation for Mr. Sapp will be held Thursday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home. Service: Funeral services for Mr. Sapp will be held on Friday morning, January 22, 2010, at 11:00 o’clock from the Southgate Baptist Church.
Mr. Sapp will lay in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Cemetery: Interment will be in the St. Johns Cemetery. |
