Obituary:

Mr. Ivey Harry Joyner, Jr., 59, passed away Saturday morning, January 2, 2010, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Ware County on March 16, 1950, Mr. Joyner had lived in Homerville for many years before moving to Blackshear four years ago.  He was retired from Brockway B-Way Industries in Homerville and was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Finley Harris, and his brother, Paul Joyner.

Mr. Joyner is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jennifer & Steve McHugh of Baconton, GA, Ivy Kaye & Calvin Smith of Valdosta and Ivey Joyner of Blackshear; two sons, Carey Joyner of Manor and Michael Paul Joyner of Blackshear; his father and step-mother, Ivey Harry, Sr. & Rose Joyner of Waycross; 5 sisters, Yvonne (Jim) Brown of Waycross, Sheila Joyner (fiance’ Jimmy McKinney) and Alice (James) Eidson all of Blackshear, Lorraine (Elmer) Davis of Jamestown and June Smith of Brunswick; a grandchild, Taylor Lane, and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.


Visitation:

Visitation for Mr. Joyner will be held Monday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.



Service:

Funeral services for Mr. Joyner will be held Tuesday morning, January 5, 2010, at 11:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.



Cemetery:

Interment will be in the Piney Grove Cemetery in Ware County.
