Mrs. Jeane Allen Davis, 70 of Brantley County, passed away Monday (February 20, 2012) at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House.
Born in Alma, GA on March 31, 1941, she had lived in Brantley County for over 30 years. Mrs. Davis had been a secretary at the State Lab in Waycross for many years attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – Waycross Ward. She loved to cook, garden, fish and in her younger days, bowl. A loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Davis helped to rear her youngest grandchild, Ashley Davis.
She was a daughter of the late Gus & Mamie Mobley Allen. Mrs. Davis was also preceded in death by her husband, John Sapp; three sisters, Katie Taylor, Jesse Stewart and Ida Mae Matthews; and all three of her brothers, Wiley Allen, Earnest Allen and Leroy Allen.
Survivors include a daughter, Tina Rutledge of Waycross; a son, Bruce Davis, girlfriend, Sheila Thomas, of Waycross; three sisters, Mamie (John) Wright of Acworth and Josephine (Robert) Cowart and Iva Lee Matthews all of Waycross; 5 grandchildren, Ashley Davis, Bruce Hardage, Elizabeth Hardage, James Bell and Cristy Rutledge; a great grandchild, Malaya Hardage and a great granddaughter soon to be born. There are several nieces, nephews & other relatives.
