Mrs. Naomi Elizabeth Hodge Peacock, 72 of Alma (PierceCounty), passed away late Friday evening, June 22, 2012, at the Mayo Clinic –Waycross following a sudden illness.
Born in Blackshear, Ga., on February 12, 1940, she had lived in Pierce County all of her life. A retired cosmetologist, Mrs. Peacock had owned and operated the Espree beauty salon in Waycross for over 20 years. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Mrs. Peacock was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and always tried to encourage others.
Mrs. Peacock was a daughter of the late Lawton & Laura Walker Hodge. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Torry Davis; a sister, Lavenia Brown and four brothers, Cecil Hodge, James Hodge, Jack Hodge and Jerome Hodge.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Charles Peacock of Alma; four daughters and sons-in-law, Taffy & Dale Davis, Terri & Mike Thomas, Tammy & Andy Brannen and Holly & John Ratliff all of Blackshear; a sister and brother-in-law, Beatrice & Charles Milner of Fernandina Beach, FL; her twin brother and his wife, Rommie & Dorothy Nell Hodge of Pensacola, FL; 12 grandchildren, Shawn Davis, Trey (Shae) Davis, Michael (Pamela) Thomas, Chad (Melissa) Thomas, Jordan Thomas, Chris (Amy) Brannen, Ashton Crawford, Skylar Brannen, Andrew Brannen, Chase Peacock, Colby Thornton, and Chance Thornton; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
