Mrs. Johnnie Mae Campbell Lyons, 62 of Offerman, passed away Thursday morning, May 31, 2012, at her daughter’s residence.
Born in Brunswick, GA on July 5, 1949, she had lived there for many years before moving to Pierce County in the early ‘80’s. Mrs. Lyons had worked as a CNA at several nursing homes over the years and was a member of the Offerman Church of God. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Lyons was a daughter of the late William Wiley & Maggie Alma Strickland Campbell. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Shorty Lyons of Offerman; two daughters, Toy Annett Douglas and Joy F. Driggers both of Blackshear; a son and daughter-in-law, Ernest E. & Loretta Mitchell of Townsend, GA; four step-daughters and three step-sons-in-law, Linda Kay & Carroll Sims of Patterson, Vanessa & Jerry Cason of Offerman, Carmen & Wayne Sweat of Lawrenceville, GA and Regina & Doug Maler of Villa Rica, GA; a step-son, Rex Lyons of Blackshear; special friends, David & Naomi Wilson and Monika Spencer all of Waycross and Nancy Smith, Lori Taylor and Denise Korpis all of Blackshear; 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.
