Mrs. Mary Lee Johnson Kicklighter, 84 of Woodbine, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 12, 2012, at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville.
Born in Mershon, Georgia on December 6, 1927, she had lived in Pierce County most of her life before moving to Woodbine ten years ago. Mrs. Kicklighter was a homemaker and was also a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a member of the Blackshear Woman’s Club and loved being a wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Kicklighter was a daughter of the late Romey Clarence & Nola Lee Tyre Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Winston Kicklighter; a sister, Shirley Johnson, and by a brother, Allen Johnson.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Gail & David Gallagher of Blackshear, Sandra & Joe Brice of Hiram, GA, Sue & Eulin Gibbs of Hartwell, GA and Kay & Julian Proctor of Woodbine; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry & Cindy Kicklighter of Blackshear; a sister, Scarlet Jane Huggins of Hoboken; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Clarence & Nova Deen Johnson of Mershon and Edith Johnson of Alma; 12 grandchildren, Ginnie & Bruce Carter, Karen & Wesley Owens, Joe Brice, Jr., Jason & Beth Brice, Kelley Byrd, Matt & Andrea Gibbs, Winston Gibbs, John Daniel Gibbs, Auston Proctor, Kaleigh Waters, Rose Mary Kicklighter and Sarann Kicklighter; 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.
