Thomas Haddock Obituary

Mr. Thomas Grady Haddock, 76, of Blackshear, passed away late Wednesday afternoon, April 3, 2024, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.

Born in Ellerbe, NC on February 5, 1948, he had lived in Darien prior to moving to Pierce County in 1996.  Mr. Haddock served in the US Navy for four years before going to work for Lockheed-Martin and working in Vietnam as a civilian. He would go on to reenlist in the Navy and serve several more years.  Mr. Haddock went into trucking having worked for Anderson Trucking as well as Boatright Trucking for which he was still currently employed. He dearly loved his work family and was honored to have worked for them.  Mr. Haddock was a devoted grandfather to all of his grandchildren and so enjoyed spending time with them.  A favorite pastime for him was taking the family to the mountains to go camping and fishing.  What Mr. Haddock lacked in his own childhood he made up for with his children and grandchildren.  They filled his life with love and happiness and who could ask for anything more? He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

He was a son of the late Samuel Dewitt Haddock and Audley Mildred Smith Gifford.  He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Harry Gifford; his wife, Glenda Diane Thornton Haddock; a granddaughter, Hannah Comdeco; and three brothers, Samuel Dewitt “Sammy” Haddock, Jr., Larry Haddock, and Kenneth Smith.

Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Ann Easterling, Dianna Lynn (Jeffery) Gray, and Tiffany Cheyanne Easterling (fiancé, Johnathon Perone) all of Blackshear; two sons, Lawrence Wayne (Racquel) Comdeco of Chesapeake, VA and Charles Thomas Haddock (fiancé, Andrea Perkins) of Blackshear; a sister, Brenda (Bruce) Hipps of Waynesville, NC; two brothers, Dale (Sabrina) Haddock of Lake Junaluska, NC and Donald (Darla J.) Haddock of Ft. Myers, FL; 11 grandchildren, Sophia Easterling, Sawyer Handley, Kori Jayde “KJ” Easterling, Kimberly (Rafael) Barros, Jeffrey Gray (fiancé, Allie Carter), Sasha Easterling (fiancé, Cameron Peterson), Nya Comdeco, Cameron Comdeco, Dominic Comdeco, Carina Comdeco, and Camilla Comdeco; 2 great grandchildren, Daxton Barros and Lilian Peterson; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
