Mrs. Gertrude Julie Hendrix Williams, 91, of Blackshear, passed away early Sunday morning, March 24, 2024, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.
Born in Hoboken, GA on June 18, 1932, Mrs. Williams lived in Pierce County since 1968. She retired from JC Penney in 1989 after 19 years of service and was a member of First Baptist Church – Blackshear.
She was a daughter of the late John & Julie Altman Hendrix. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leaston Williams; two great grandchildren, Tish Ammons and Patia Williams; her sister, Mae Justice; and her brother, Johnnie Hendrix.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia & Terry Kenney of Blackshear; two sons and daughters-in-law, David & Harriett Williams of Blackshear and Dennis & Roni Williams of Orange Park, FL; 4 grandchildren, Todd Ammons, Caitlyn (Mark) West, Scott (Azuree) Williams, and Stacy Williams; 9 great grandchildren; 3 great, great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be held Wednesday morning, March 27, 2024, at 11 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Young and Dr. Justin Gambrell officiating.
Visitation for Mrs. Williams will be held at the funeral home chapel one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery.
